Saturday, 9 July 2022
Enjoy riding behind not one, but two steam locomotives as R766 and 5917 haul The Barrington Picnic Train on a journey along the beautiful North Coast line from Maitland to Gloucester and return.
For the first time in history, you will be able to travel behind ex-Victorian Railways R Class locomotive, R766 double-heading with ex-NSW Railways 59 Class locomotive, 5917!

Sit back and enjoy the stunning picture views of the countryside from inside our beautiful heritage carriages while we steam towards Gloucester.
You’ll have plenty of time for a relaxing lunch at a variety of cafés or bistros in Gloucester. Take a scenic walk, picnic in the park.
Your journey starts at Maitland’s Railway Station, travelling on the North Coast line, paralleling The Bucketts range into Gloucester, where a shuttle bus will be waiting to take passengers into town.
