Travel behind classic heritage diesel-electric locomotives from Maitland to Werris Creek and return as we speed through the Hunter Valley in style on the North West Picnic Train. The train will be hauled by our very own 4903 and streamliner 42107.

Setting off from Maitland Railway Station, the train will also make stops to pick up at Singleton and Muswellbrook, stopping to drop off at Quirindi before continuing to Werris Creek.

The train will be in Werris Creek for approximately two hours. While there, be sure to check out the heritage listed railway station and the Australian Railway Monument and Rail Journeys Museum located within the station precinct.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please pay special attention to the number and type of seats you have selected before making your purchase.

OUR LOCOMOTIVES

42107-NW.jpg

42107: This privately owned locomotive, one of 10 built in Granville in 1965/66, has recently undergone a year-long restoration. Sporting the NSWGR 'reverse' livery, the double ended streamliner will haul our train on this tour.

4903-NW.jpg

4903: Affectionately known as 'Tarpy', our diesel locomotive continues to be the unsung hero of operations, moving carriages, helping to shunt trains or tagging along to provide a little assistance.
