Departing Sydney’s Central Station, this rare excursion takes you south along our popular Kiama Picnic Train route aboard a classic 4-car V-Set electric train, complete with air-conditioning and the iconic panoramic windows these trains are loved for.

With most of the V-Set fleet now withdrawn and many cars already scrapped, this trip offers one of the last opportunities to experience a V-Set running to Kiama. Settle back, relax in cool comfort, and enjoy the sweeping coastal and countryside views as we journey toward the seaside.

Upon arrival, you’ll have approximately 3 hours in Kiama—perfect for lunch, sightseeing, and soaking in the summer atmosphere—before re-joining the train for a smooth, scenic return ride.

No Buffet Car available on this train. You are able to bring your own food to enjoy throughout the day.
As this is a Sydney Trains Charter. No Alcohol can be consumed on the train.

Babies and Toddlers:
Babies in arms and small toddlers not requiring a booked seat may be brought along at no additional cost.

Prams, wheelchairs and walkers:
Due to space restrictions and for the safety of all aboard, large prams and mobility equipment cannot be taken aboard the train. You may bring a small collapsible pram that can be stored in overhead luggage racks. The pram must be collapsed and ready to bring aboard when the train arrives at the platform. If in doubt please call us for further information.
